Download Available

Please go to http://openmobl.mobi/ and download Universe.prc and PNGLib.prc.

Please note, this is a pre-alpha UI demo therefore support requests and bug reports are not being taken at this time.

There are also no trial restrictions on the software.

EDIT: For those experiencing a "white screen," you MUST have PNGLib installed. Delete Universe from your device and re-install Universe.prc and PNGLib.prc.

Is there an analagous hard key for traditional PDAs, such as TX or Lifedrive? Or will the softkey menu button have the same effect? maybe I should just go buy a Treo... ;-)

Nice UI. I have four suggestions:

-when pressing there is a light bluish blur, I would suggestion making the blur bigger, the UI looks like a finger type UI and pressing with the finger hides the blur, if its bigger one can see that its being pressed better.

-Another suggestion would be, a phone vibrate will pressing like it was heptic response.

-Third suggestion, maybe make the UI transparent or maybe just the bottom to make more room for the page to appear.

-forth, take out the tabs to make more space and maybe add a bottom option to look at tabs, something like the iphone page view or a simple list like it was history and hold as much of the pages as possible in memory like opera mini (the bold text is the ones that are still in memory)

What do you think? With this new UI and if it would be possible no make Blazer cache better its pages this would make it more usable. Good luck.

I've tried the Universe with my unlocked GSM Centro, it restarts at the first launch, then only shows a blank screen on my Centro.

It crashes my TX Handheld multiple times, not allowign to recover. Is it that way by nature?

I like the suggestions. I will take them into consideration.

I will be going quite for a bit, but will try to answer questions. :)

@jack007: I need a better explanation about what you did to get the crash and when the first crash occurred. Try a warm reset (reset when pressing the up button) to delete Universe.

Wow. This looks incredible, it could actually bring the Palm platform back to life! I just wish I could get it to allow me to actually enter a URL on my Centro.

Clicking in the URL bar brings up a new entry box with "Go" and the search button, but I still can't get a cursor and hitting the kb keys seems to do nothing. Hitting the reload button (remembering the old comment about reload taking you to the test site) just flashes the word 'Error' in the top left of the screen.

Any hints? :)
